Last week I was thrown in to a ranting frenzy by reading all the Blogs and some news sources blaring out that the Engadget screw up cost Apple $4 Billion off the "bottom line". Once again this proves that technical people may not know much about anything outside of their area of Tech.
The fact is this move didn't cost Apple a penny and even a lot of the investors that temporarily lost by selling on the way down probably made most of it back and then some as it rebounded to about 4% higher that it was before the Engadget debacle.
Speaking of Engadget and Ryan Block. Ryan is the one that "broke" the story and I understood a lot more of the reason for his journalistic recklessness when, a couple of days ago he did a story about the Brain Eating Zoombies in the Apple store in San Francisco - "they obviously went to the wrong place if they wanted to find brains"
It seems that Mr Block and probably Engadget are firmly anti- Apple. So, I think in his rush to slam Apple he didn't properly check out the iPhone email, he just went for blood.
I think Mr. Block wants to be the next Mike Wallace but might turn out to be the next Dan Rather.
Now that I have taken John C. Dvorak off my "S" list that leaves me room for Ryan.
